Dr Anna KucharskaHello, I'm Anna. I have spent over the last 20 years practising psychiatry in Poland and the UK. For the last 10 years I have worked as a Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Trust, Pennine Care NHS Trust, and within the South/ West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. I am a specialist in Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy. I have also worked as a Locum Consultant for PULSE and Medax. I have extensive training in diagnosing and managing Autistic Spectrum Disorders, including a wealth of experience in working with children with Learning Disabilities.

Over this time I have gained extensive knowledge in a range of medical areas; Psychiatry, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Pain Management, General Surgery, Dental, Ear Nose and Throat (ENT), Renal and Dermatology. Working with Anna has given me the opportunity to enhance my knowledge and expertise. Being a mum of 3 myself, I know how difficult things can get in day-to-day life, but we are here to help. Dr Shripati UpadhyayaHello, I'm Shri. Chartered Clinical Psychologist (British Psychological Society) registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. I have over 25 years of experience working with adults in the NHS Autism and Learning Disability Services. My expertise lies in Developmental Disorders (Learning Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, Dementia), Mental health Conditions (Anxiety conditions, Obsessional Compulsive Disorder, Phobia, Depression, Personality Disorders and Forensic Psychology. I have experience in psychological assessments, clinical formulation and psychological therapy for people who have developmental disorders and mental health conditions.


Dr Agnieszka Bajcer

Dr Agnieszka BajcerDr Agnieszka Bajcer qualified as a medical doctor from the Medical University in Lublin, Poland in 1996. She has been working as a psychiatrist since, and completed her specialist training in Poland in 2003. Dr Bajcer started working as a Locum Consultant Psychiatrist in the UK in 2006. She has extensive experience in the field of psychiatry and has worked in various settings in the NHS inpatient and community sector, also in the private sector with; Cygnet Healthcare, Priory Healthcare, St Andrew Healthcare and Southern Hill Hospital.

Dr Bajcer has a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of people who experience depression, anxiety and psychotic breakdowns, she also has a vast knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder in Adults and associated mental health difficulties.

Adult ADHD Assessments

Our specialist Adult ADHD Assessment is usually completed over 3 appointments (total 3 hours) plus written report:

  • Initial meeting with you and your representatives (parent/ friend/ spouse) discuss problems at home/ work. You will be given Connors questionnaires to complete in wait of your follow up meeting
  • Follow up meeting with your representatives only, to obtain collateral information
  • The final session of the Assessment will detail feedback, and diagnosis. We will also discuss any treatment recommended and if any further follow up sessions will be beneficial.
  • A detailed report will be written following the final appointment.

Bipolar Assessments

If you think you have bipolar disorder we recommend speaking to your GP in advance. In the event of a determined analysis, your GP may refer you onto Medana.

Our specialist Bipolar Assessment is completed over 2 appointments (total 2 hours) plus written report. During the assessment, you'll be asked about your symptoms and when you first experienced them. We will want to know about your medical background, and family history, especially whether any of your relatives have had bipolar disorder.

Follow Up Meetings

Depending on the nature and severity of the assessment. Follow up sessions are evaluated and prescribed on a case by case basis. We offer a range of follow up meetings, ranging from; Medication Reviews through to Consultations. Each follow-up session can last from 30 minutes through to 60 minutes.

Important Information for New Customers

Customers that are going to self-pay:

  • It is recommended for you to visit your GP to discuss your situation.
  • Once your GP has agreed that a psychiatric consultation is appropriate, obtain a referral from them, which can be sent in prior to the appointment or, can be brought with you on the day of your appointment.
  • Contact us with your preferred clinic and time. Your appointment confirmation will be sent via email or text.
  • A paper invoice will be given at the end of your assessment or session.
  • Payment can be made by cash, cheque, BACs (bank transfer), unless otherwise stated on the clinic.
  • The appointment(s) will be held in a private consulting room.
  • New assessments are consisted of 3 appointments, that last approximately 60-90 minutes.
  • For new assessments regarding young children, there will be play-based activities as well as parent interviews.
  • New assessments regarding adolescents and adults, consist of self questionnaires and spouse/ next of kin interviews.
  • An outcome report is included within the assessment.

Customers who are covered by Private Healthcare/ Insurance:

  • Visit your GP to discuss your situation.
  • Once your GP has agreed that a psychiatric consultation is appropriate, obtain a referral from them, which can be sent in prior to the appointment or, can be brought with you on the day of your appointment.
  • Contact your insurance provider, as some providers require you to obtain a pre-authorisation code before contacting for an appointment.
  • Contact us with your preferred clinic and time. Your appointment confirmation will be sent via email or text.
  • PLEASE NOTE: You will be responsible for any shortfall fees your insurance/ healthcare provider won't cover.
  • The appointment(s) will be held in a private consulting room.
  • New assessments are consisted of 3 appointments, that last approximately 60-90 minutes.
  • For new assessments regarding young children, there will be play-based activities as well as parent interviews.
  • New assessments regarding adolescents and adults, consist of self questionnaires and spouse/ next of kin interviews.
  • An outcome report is included within the assessment.
